Homebrewing ignited a fire in me when I was just 21 years old after receiving a Mr. Beer kit for my birthday. I still remember that first brew day - standing over the bubbling kettle on my stovetop watching in terror as boil-over made a mess of my kitchen and my dog Jaeger eager to help clean up. The aroma of steeping grains and hops filled the house and had my roommates looking nervous. By the time I popped the top on my first under-carbonated terrible tasting brew, I was hooked. What started as a hobby blossomed into a passion.
Over the years, I've brewed countless batches, experimenting with styles, ingredients, and techniques. Each brew day brought its own challenges and triumphs, but one thing was always mission: a true sense of community around the craft. Despite my love for brewing, I struggled to find other homebrews nearby who were interested enough to stick around for a whole busy brew day.
That is one of the catalysts for starting this club. I want to create the kind of community for every brewer that I had always searched for. This community brings people together, no matter where they are, to share in each others' brewing journeys. Whether you're brewing your first extract batch or crafting your thousandth all-grain 1-barrel masterpiece, this club is here to add a personal touch to your brewing experience and make sure that no brewers' brewhouse is a one-man cave.
We're all a part of the same brewing story. I'm excited to write the next chapter with you. Cheers, and welcome to the club!
Brewing is about more than just making great beer - it's about having fun, being creative, and sharing in the experience with good people. While some may view their local homebrew club or online forum as a way to showboat their own perceived prowess amongst lesser experienced brewers, this is not that club.
We believe in celebrating the joy of brewing with a fun and supportive touch. It's not about perfection, it's about having fun. After all, this is a hobby! Whether your beer wins awards or grimaces from your friends, we're here to encourage and inspire each other along the way.
This club is for brewers who love the process, cherish peer-to-peer interaction, and value the laughs as much as the lessons. If you're ready to brew with a fun-loving group of people, you're in the right place.
Beer has a way of bring people together like nothing else. For centuries, it's been at the heart of our shared human connection - shared for millennium over meals, at celebrations, and moments of reflection. Brewing our own beer allows us to take an active part of that incredible rich history and carry forward a tradition that has shaped cultures and forged relationships in every place on earth.
Brew day is a dedication to art, community, history, friendships, and good times. Each batch is a blend of creativity and craftsmanship with a story that evolves and changes throughout the brewing and ageing processes. It's components are fermented with living organisms. No ingredient and no component is isolated. Brewing connects us to our ancestors, to the pioneering fermentationists that came before us, and to the friends and family we share our creations with today.
From the ancient Natufian people of Israel 13,000 years ago, to the Hymn to Ninkasi of the ancient Sumerians, to ancient Egypt, to backyard brew day barbecues today, humanity and beer are inextricably linked. It is tied to who we are. We brew for the art, the fun, the friendships, and science, and all the unexpected failures and successes that come along with it. It's a celebration of life, history, and the common ground that brings us all together.
